Driving to Nelson B.C.

October 21st, 2008

I drove to Nelson yesterday from Calgary to visit my friend Steven, it was a nice day in central Alberta but as soon as I closer to BC the clouds closed in and it started to rain. Which is a-ok for me for a day of driving… and got even more perfect as around the town of Sparwood I discovered that fall colours happened much later out here. So the yellows were exploding everywhere!

It was not the most efficient drive, as I could not help but to stop in on some familiar side roads to capture some images.

And thanks to my wonderful girlfriend who let me borrow her laptop for the week I was able to work on the images last night!

I got a new car!

So I got a new car recently and we went for our first official sweet day of driving this week. Drove down to Longview to get some of their famous beef jerky and then drove around Kananaskis country and south for a long tour of beautiful gravel roads… 400+ kms and one dirty car made for an excellent day!

The major goal of the day was to get a great photo of the southern prairies, which I hope I did as it is a gift for a very good friend. Here is an image from the day:

More images will trickle out as I have time.
